Louisville Cardinals to retire No. 8 jersey of former football player Lamar Jackson

Louisville will retire Lamar Jackson's No. 8 jersey in a ceremony during the Cardinals' Nov. 13 game against Syracuse, the school announced Saturday.
Jackson will join Johnny Unitas as the only players in school history to have their numbers retired. Louisville retired Unitas' No. 16 in 2003.
The school surprised the Ravens quarterback with a video announcement as he prepared to do media interviews in Baltimore.
"I feel like I won a Heisman again," Jackson said in the video.
Jackson became the youngest player to win the Heisman Trophy in 2016 at 19 years, 337 days after a remarkable season in which he had 4,928 yards of offense. That ranks second in Heisman history behind BYU's Ty Detmer (5,022 in 1990).
He also is the first player to win the Heisman with at least 30 touchdown passes and at least 21 rushing touchdowns, and his 1,538 rushing yards are the most by a Heisman-winning quarterback.
Jackson made his most iconic play that season with the "Lamar Leap," when he hurdled a Syracuse defender in a 62-28 victory -- a move that firmly planted him in the mind of Heisman voters.
"Lamar earned the Heisman and then the NFL MVP, and he's not even 25 years old. Even more remarkable, he's only getting better," Louisville athletic director Vince Tyra said in a statement. "His humble heart and grounded approach endears him to his teammates, his coaches and any staff he's ever been around. He knows it takes eleven to be successful on offense, not one. We're so proud to retire his number 8 for what he has accomplished so far but are equally excited about what's to come."
In addition to winning the Heisman, Jackson set or tied 42 school single-game, season and career records during his three years in Louisville and holds seven ACC records. He remains the only player in FBS history to rush for at least 1,500 yards and pass for at least 3,500 yards in a season -- and he did it in both 2016 and 2017. He finished third in the Heisman voting in 2017.
Jackson is expected to attend the ceremony in Louisville, as the Ravens have a Thursday night game against the Miami Dolphins that week. The Ravens drafted Jackson No. 32 overall in 2018, and he won NFL MVP honors in 2019.
"We couldn't ask for a better representative of our football program," Louisville coach Scott Satterfield said in a statement. "Lamar's influence goes far beyond our campus -- he's got this entire city behind him every day and we can't wait to welcome him home."

Washington announces Taylor jersey retirement amid scandals

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) The Washington Football Team announced Thursday it is retiring late safety Sean Taylor's number this weekend, last-minute timing that sparked criticism while the organization is dealing with multiple off-field scandals.

Washington has previously promoted jersey retirement ceremonies months in advance, most recently in June for Bobby Mitchell's night in September. The announcement of Taylor's No. 21 being retired came three days before Washington hosted Kansas City on what the team calls homecoming weekend.

The team said in a statement this has been in the works since before the season and apologized to fans for the lack of notice. President Jason Wright also took to Twitter to apologize.

We wanted to do something long overdue by retiring players numbers, Wright tweeted. Months ago we planned for Bobby Mitchell and Sean Taylor to be the first two. Seeing the reaction, Im very sorry that the short notice does not properly reflect the impact Sean had.
Washingtons head athletic trainer is on administrative leave for what a team spokesman called an ongoing criminal investigation unrelated to the club after federal authorities, including agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, searched the practice facility Oct. 1.

Former employees are also calling for the NFL to release the findings of an investigation into Washington workplace misconduct after emails from Jon Gruden led to the Raiders coachs resignation.

If the NFL felt it appropriate to release these offensive emails from Jon Gruden, which it obtained during its investigation into the Washington Football Team, it must also release the findings related to the actual target of that investigation, said lawyers Lisa Banks and Debra Katz, who represent 40 former Washington employees.

Washington to retire Sean Taylor's No. 21 jersey, rename road to FedExField in honor of late Pro Bowl safety

Nearly 14 years after he was shot and killed at just 24, former Pro Bowl safety Sean Taylor will be recognized in a historic ceremony ahead of Washington Football Team's Week 6 game against the Chiefs on Sunday. Since its inception in 1932, the franchise has retired just two jersey numbers -- that of Hall of Famers Sammy Baugh and Bobby Mitchell. This weekend, Taylor's famous No. 21 jersey will officially become the third to hang from the rafters, with the late defensive back's family on hand for the tribute.

Nearly 100 team alumni will be honored at FedExField on Sunday, as Washington announced, with Taylor's tribute headlining the day of reflection. Taylor's family will be on the field for a pregame ceremony celebrating the former first-round pick's career, as well as the retirement of his No. 21, which hasn't been issued since his death in 2007.

The team will also commemorate the renaming of the road leading to FedExField as Sean Taylor Road, with both family and friends of Taylor onsite before the game. The first 10,000 fans to enter the stadium Sunday will get commemorative Sean Taylor rally towels, while players and staff will be wearing No. 21 stickers or pins that pay homage to the safety.
"I came into the NFL the same year as Sean Taylor and immediately his athletic ability, resilience, grit, and relentless work ethic set him apart. I and many others looked to him as a role model," Washington team president Jason Wright said in a statement. "The fact that he was tragically taken so early hurt our player community, but also our fans, coaches, and staff. We will continue to remember him and hold him up as an example of professionalism and excellence, and we will all strive to mirror his excellence in our own ways."

Taylor, who was shot and killed during a burglary of his home on Nov. 27, 2007, during his fourth season in the NFL, was posthumously voted a Pro Bowler and All-Pro, as well as inducted into Washington's Ring of Fame, in 2008.

Before his untimely death, the Miami product had established himself as one of the game's top up-and-coming players at his position, as well as one of the NFL's hardest hitters. He missed just two games during his first three seasons, logging a career-high 111 tackles in 2006, and then recorded a career-high five interceptions during his abbreviated nine-game 2007 campaign.

Former Sixer Tony Wroten among NBA vets arrested, indicted in fraud scheme

BA Vets Indicted in Alleged Multi-Million-Dollar Health Insurance Fraud Scheme originally appeared on NBC New York. By Jonathan Dienst, Tom Winter, Courtney Copenhagen and John Chandler.N

More than a dozen former NBA players, including Process-era Philadelphia 76ers guard Tony Wroten, have been charged in New York federal court in an alleged multi-million-dollar health insurance fraud scheme to rip off the league's benefit plan, according to an indictment unsealed in the Southern District on Thursday.

The 18 former players named in the indictment include alleged scheme ringleader Terrence Williams, selected 11th overall in the 2009 NBA draft by the then-New Jersey Nets, six-time NBA All-Defensive Team member Tony Allen, former Lakers Guard Shannon Brown and Ronald Glen Davis, who played for the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers over the course of his career.
Allen's wife, Desiree Allen, is the only woman charged in the indictment.

Those indicted face charges of conspiracy to commit health care and wire fraud as well as aggravated identity theft. By late morning, 16 of them were in custody after arrests in a dozen locations nationwide. The FBI said "this remains an ongoing investigation," though it was not clear if more arrests were expected.

According to the grand jury indictment, the defendants allegedly engaged in a widespread scheme from at least 2017 up to around 2020 to defraud the NBA Players' Health and Welfare Benefit Plan by submitting fake reimbursement claims for medical and dental services that were never actually rendered.

New Jersey Devils Final Preseason Game Cancelled due to Partial Power Outage at Prudential Center

I had the fortune of going to tonight s preseason game between the New Jersey Devils and the New York Islanders. I did not know what to expect, but I was hoping for a good performance and no injuries. What I got was darkness. Partially, at least.

As I headed into the arena, all was fine until I got closer to Section 1. It was dark. The ambient lighting was enough to get around, but the normal lighting was off. It was off over those sections and pretty much the entire lower bowl in that end of the arena. The humongous scoreboard was off. Most importantly, about half of the rink lights were off. While one could see the rink, it could cause issues for those playing the game. That was enough to delay the game in the hopes of repairing it.

As such, the game that was scheduled for 7 PM and normally would start at 7:08 PM did not happen at that time. Around 7:15 PM, the Public Address announcer stated that the game would be delayed due to an outage and staff were working on the issue. Music continued to play in the arena. Fans milled about. At one point, a number turned on the flashlights on their smartphones and waved them about. At another point, a wave started. The delay continued until about 7:50 PM. Then, the announcement came: the game would be cancelled and would not be re scheduled.
This was received negatively by those in attendance and understandably so. It may have been an exhibition game, but it was a game nonetheless. A time out to see Our Favorite Team play the Isles (except for the Isles fans who were to support the visitors). The announcement and subsequent statement sent out by the team (the e mail matched the wording on the site) stated that those in attendance would be eligible for a 2021 22 regular season game for the same number of tickets they had tonight. Details would come out on how that will be done later. That is a fair level of compensation. With no game played tonight, you get tickets to another game that will be played. A game with some value, too. Hopefully all who get this option will be able to pick a game they can attend instead of being forced to pick between some non ideal match ups they may not be able to attend.

The odd thing about it was that this was really a partial power outage. The lounge sections had power. The upper bowl had power throughout. The other half of the rink had full power. The sound system was clearly working. This was not a situation like what happened on January 9, 2010 when the power in the whole arena went out during a game between the New Jersey Devils and Tampa Bay Lightning. ( Fun  fact: I attended that game too.) Still, the main issue is safety. Even having half of the rink lights out could lead to issues for the players on the ice. We would not want to see injuries normally, especially in preseason games. We especially would not like a Devil getting hurt because they did not see something as clearly as they would have under normal lighting conditions. Between that, it being a preseason game, and the seemingly unknown lead time to fix the issue (no progress was seemingly made from what I saw), I can understand the decision to cancel the game. I am a little disappointed by it, but it is what it is.

Training Camp Buzz: Gourde skates with Kraken wearing regular jersey

Smith may not be ready for Devils opener; Caufield returns to Canadiens
Welcome to the 2021-22 NHL training camp buzz. With training camps open for all 32 teams, NHL.com has you covered with all the latest news.

Seattle Kraken
Yanni Gourde skated with the Kraken on Monday wearing a regular jersey.

The forward had been participating in a red non-contact jersey. He was expected to be out two months after having shoulder surgery in July.

"I just need to just to get some more reps and I think when I wear red (jersey), guys are super careful out there and you don't do much so I need to get a little bit more bumps in," Gourde said. "It just doesn't mean much. I mean it's just a different color. We're still working. It's a work in process to get back in shape and get back, ready to play, but we're not there yet."

The Kraken begin their inaugural season at the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 12.

Coach Dave Hakstol said Gourde will not be rushed into the lineup before he's ready.

"Our medical group has a real specific plan for him," Hakstol said. "He's still on limited contact and he's working real hard at everything that he can do to be ready, but there's a plan in place for him and he's still on limited contact."
Gourde was selected from the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft. He last played July 7 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Montreal Canadiens, when he helped the Lightning repeat as Stanley Cup champions.

New Jersey Devils
Ty Smith may not play for the Devils in their season opener against the Chicago Blackhawks at home Oct. 15.

"I think we'll have to evaluate but that's a possibility, yes," coach Lindy Ruff said Monday.

The defenseman has yet to play a preseason game because of an undisclosed injury.

"He's going to be out for a little bit," Ruff said. "I don't have the exact amount of time, but I don't anticipate him practicing for the next little while."

Jack Hughes did not play in a 4-1 preseason win against the Washington Capitals at home Monday. The center was not on the ice for the morning skate and had some tests. Ruff said he hopes Hughes can practice Tuesday.

Hughes was injured in the second period of a 2-1 overtime win against the New York Islanders in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on Oct. 2 when he was cross-checked by New York forward Ross Johnston. He played one more shift before going to the locker room and not returning.
The Devils also were without Damon Severson against the Capitals. The defenseman has a muscle strain sustained when he slipped on a puck and went into the boards during the morning skate.

Jesper Bratt had an assist in 17:41 against Washington in his preseason debut after the forward recovered from an illness unrelated to COVID-19.

"He'll be excited to get in," Ruff said. "He was going to play the other night but didn't feel well, so we took him out. But his practices have been good, scrimmages." -- Mike G. Morreale

Check Out The Photo Of An NBA All-Star At The Colts And Dolphins Game On Sunday Holding A Dolphins Jersey

Former Indiana Pacers and current Miami Heat star Victor Oladipo was at the Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts game in Florida on Sunday.
The Indianapolis Colts were on the road to face the Miami Dolphins in Florida on Sunday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium.

Ironically, Victor Oladipo, who was a two-time All-Star with the Indiana Pacers, is now on the Miami Heat and was at the game on Sunday.

A photo of the former Pacers and current Heat star at the game can be seen in the Tweet that is embedded below from Charlie Clifford of WISH-TV.
Unfortunately for Indiana sports fans, their former star was seen holding a Dolphins jersey and not a Colts jersey.

Oladipo was not only a star (nearly a superstar) when he played for the Pacers, but he also was one of the best players to play at Indiana University over the last 20 years.

After playing three seasons for Tom Crean's Hoosiers in Bloomington, Indiana, the shooting guard was selected number two overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic.

During his junior season, he averaged 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game.

He also shot nearly 60% from the field, and over 44% from the three-point range.

He is entering his ninth season in the NBA and has played for the Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Pacers, Houston Rockets and Heat.
Last season he averaged 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, while playing for the Pacers, Rockets and Heat.

He was involved in the James Harden trade and got sent to the Rockets, and after a short stint in Houston was then sent to Miami.

The best years of his NBA career were when he played for the Pacers.

The Colts beat the Dolphins 27-17 for their first win of the 2021-22 NFL season.

The Green Bay Packers added a pocket to Aaron Jones' jersey so he can play while carrying his father's ashes

(CNN)Aaron Jones of the Green Bay Packers received a heartwarming gesture from his team after losing a pendant containing his father's ashes during a game.

After the black pendant was found, Red Batty, the team's equipment manager, built a small pocket onto Jones' jersey, perfectly measured to securely hold the pendant, the Green Bay Packers said on Twitter Sunday.
"I can just drop it in there and I don't have to worry about it falling out, so I can play with it," Jones said during a press conference Friday, confirming he wore the jersey with the pendent during the Packers' last game against the San Francisco 49ers on September 26.
Jones' father, Alvin Jones Sr., passed away in April from Covid-19 complications, KTSM producer Andra Litton confirmed on Twitter.
The Packers' running back initially wore the football-shaped pendant on a chain, but lost it in the end zone during one of his touchdowns in a game against the Detroit Lions on September 20. Team trainer Bryan "Flea" Engel found the pendant, Jones tweeted, along with a photo of the pendant.
Jones added he is looking to get a new chain for the pendant, so he can keep it on him nearly "at all times," but for now, he wears it on game days.
"It's something I'll continue to do," Jones said. "Just keep my dad with me everywhere I go."
The athlete was very close to his father, who didn't miss any of his son's' games in nine years, Jones said in an Instagram tribute to his dad following his death.
The athlete was featured during an episode of The Adam Schefter podcast, that will air next week, in which he spoke on the significance of the gesture from his team, ESPN reported.
"It just shows how special our staff is, and our support staff here with the Packers in Green Bay from the training staff to our equipment staff to [the] coaching staff to [the] GM," Jones said during the episode.
"Just the whole time I've been experiencing this and dealing with this, they've been there for me, from the funeral to this."

New Jersey Devils Cut Four More from Camp; Claimed Mason Geertsen from Waivers

The New Jersey Devils cut four more players from camp today: Chase Stillman, Nate Schnarr, Robbie Russo, and Brian Flynn. The Devils also claimed Mason Geertsen, a large minor league skater from waivers.
The New Jersey Devils announced four more cuts from their training camp roster this afternoon. According to the team s official website, they are Chase Stillman, Robbie Russo, Nate Schnarr, and Brian Flynn. Stillman is being re assigned to his major junior team, the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League. Russo and Flynn have been placed on waivers; should they clear them, then they will be assigned to Utica. Schnarr has been directly demoted to the Utica Comets.

This announcement is not a big surprise. While all four played in a preseason game in this past week, neither of them had made a significant impact or had any large expectation of making the team. Flynn and Russo were signed primarily for Utica and Schnarr has yet to impress enough at the AHL to warrant a look at the NHL level. I would expect Flynn and Russo to clear waivers unless someone in another organization really likes them. As for Stillman, he needs experience. He was just drafted after a season of only eight season games in a Danish U 20 league and a World U 18 Championship appearance. It makes sense for him and his development to go back to Sudbury and hopefully emerge as one of the OHL s better forwards.

However, the Devils did not go from 46 to 42 today as they made an addition. The team claimed defenseman Mason Geertsen from waivers this afternoon. (UPDATE: Per a reader by an email, Geertsen has been converted to a forward in recent seasons. This post has been corrected accordingly) The words  size  and  toughness  were used in the subheadline of the team s announcement on their website, which should give you a good indication as to why he was claimed. Unless you follow the AHL or Vancouver and Edmonton of the WHL, then you may not know who Geertsen is. Per EliteProspects, he is a 26 year old left shooting defenseman (now forward) listed at 6 4  and 216 pounds. He was drafted by Colorado in the fourth round back in 2013. He did get an ELC with Colorado in 2015, where in he spent his entire time in either the AHL or ECHL racking up PIMs and very few points. Avalanche management did give him a second, one season deal in 2018. In 2019, Hartford   the AHL affiliate of Our Hated Rivals   signed him to a deal. Our Hated Rivals retained him and he has remained there up until this day where the Devils claimed him off waivers.

I would not expect to see him in Newark. Geertsen has played in zero NHL games in his career. He never got a shot with Colorado or Our Hated Rivals since turning pro in 2015. In his 297 AHL games, Geertsen has put up nine goals, 41 assists, and 519 PIM. From where I stand, this is more or less an acquisition for Utica. Whether it is a good one remains to be seen as there is no shortage of defensemen (or wingers) in the organization between the Devils and Comets. Still, he is an addition and so I wish him the best.

What do you think of the cuts the Devils made today? Will we see more of them made tomorrow? What do you think of the acquisition of Geertsen? Please leave your answers and other thoughts about these moves in the comments. Thank you for reading.

Brad Weber wins starting jersey for Bledisloe III

Brad Weber has been named as Aaron Smith s replacement, leap frogging TJ Perenara for the starting position in the third Bledisloe Test in Perth on Sunday afternoon.

Billed as a Father s Day clash, the All Blacks will be without three of their stars with Smith, Richie Mo unga and Sam Whitelock all remaining in New Zealand with their partners expecting babies.

Weber will get his second start at half back in his 11th Test, with Perenara to provide impact off the bench, while Beauden Barrett has been given the nod to start at fly half as Mo unga s replacement.
Brad has been with us through the Steinlager Series and coming into the Rugby Championship,  All Blacks coach Ian Foster said.  We really wanted to build the nine combination, especially with Aaron not here and to complement TJ s leadership and experience, so this is a great opportunity to put our faith in Brad to start the Test.

In all, Foster has made six changes to his side with Scott Barrett coming in for Whitelock in the only change up front, while Anton Leinert Brown will make his return from injury slotting in at centre joining David Havili. Reiko Ioane has been moved to the left wing, with Will Jordan taking up the right and Jordie Barrett slots in at fullback, leaving Damian McKenzie and George Bridge on the bench as powerful replacements.
Having already won the Bledisloe Cup for a 19th straight year, the All Blacks will be looking to complete the whitewash. While the Wallabies were able to stay in touch in the opening Test, falling 33 25, New Zealand came out firing in the second Test in Auckland, registering a record 57 22 win, and they ll be determined to round out the series with another strong win.

Despite the unusual circumstances around the final Test, with the match delayed, quarantine in New Zealand and Perth, Foster believes his team won t be underdone.
We are ready, and the team is really determined to finish off this block of Tests against Australia with a top performance. We ve had a really unique situation going into this Test, with quarantine back in New Zealand and a  soft  quarantine here in Perth, but the work that has gone in preparing the players has been outstanding, so when the whistle goes on Sunday, we ll be ready.

Foster has also been forced to make changes on his bench with Patrick Tuipulotu out with a tight groin which sees Tupou Vaa i come onto the bench for his first Test of 2021. While Ethan Blackadder also gets the call up as loose forward cover. Ardie Savea will captain the All Blacks for the first time at number eight.

In the forwards, we have picked a group that is most recently battle hardened,  Foster added.  A lot of them played in the first two Bledisloe Cup Tests, so it s right to go with them in this Fortinet Rugby Championship Test.
All Blacks: Jordie Barrett, Will Jordan, Anton Lienert Brown, David Havili, Rieko Ioane, Beauden Barrett, Brad Webber, Ardie Savea, Dalton Papalii, Akira Ioane, Scott Barrett, Brodie Retallick, Nepo Laulala, Codie Taylor, George Bower. Replacements: Samisoni Taukei aho, Karl Tu inukuafe, Angus Ta avao, Tupou Vaa I, Ethan Blackadder, TJ Perenara, Damian McKenzie, George Bridge.

Wallabies make Indigenous design a permanent feature of jerseys

An Australian representative team will bear both the coat of arms and a First Nations design on its primary playing kit for the first time, after the Wallabies unveiled a new jersey incorporating Indigenous artwork in the numbers on the back.

Rugby Australia released the tweak to their latest gold playing jersey on Wednesday, with players  numbers to feature work by the Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay artist, Dennis Golding.

Rugby Australia said the artwork  celebrates and recognises Australian rugby s First Nations peoples  and highlights all communities coming together as one.

Golding s work has already been seen on Australia s existing First Nations strip, which was first used during a Test against the All Blacks in 2017 and has since been given an outing a further four times.

The new, permanent design, will make its debut in Sunday s Rugby Championship Test against world champions South Africa on the Gold Coast. The First Nations jersey will be brought out again for the Test match against Argentina in Townsville two weeks later on 25 September.
Wallabies coach Dave Rennie said it had been the playing group who advocated for the design to be incorporated on a permanent basis.
This jersey holds significance to every member of our team, and to have the First Nations artwork now on our primary jersey is something incredibly special,  Rennie said.

As a squad, we pride ourselves on culture and inclusivity, and that s what the First Nations jersey represents, and to now have it on both jerseys is something special for our rugby community.

Indigenous player Andy Muirhead, who was called up into an extended Wallabies squad for the first time for the three Test series against France earlier this year, said incorporating the design was a big step forward in the recognition of First Nations people.

The boys wearing the Indigenous jersey over the last couple of years has been really nice but this is a nice touch   that the boys can run out every week and display Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture,  said Muirhead.  It s pretty special.

The First Nations jersey enjoyed a memorable start to its life in a famous and rare Wallabies  win over the All Blacks in a Bledisloe Cup encounter at Brisbane s Suncorp Stadium.
It was then worn at Twickenham against England before making an appearance against Uruguay at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, and two further occasions during the 2020 Tri Nations tournament   against New Zealand and Argentina   in Sydney.

Rennie said a great deal of thought had been put into deciding when and where to next wear the strip, and that the Wallabies  clash with Argentina in Townsville was the obvious choice.

It boasts a strong First Nations community who we represent, and when we wear this jersey, we feel it will provide us with an even stronger connection with our people,  he said.

As a squad, we pride ourselves on culture and inclusivity, and that s what the First Nations jersey represents, and to now have it on both jerseys is something special for our rugby community.

If you re wondering why Caesars Sportsbook is coming to the table with two aggressive incentives, the answer is rather simple and straightforward. Rival operators like DraftKings and FanDuel have enjoyed terrific success and Caesars Sportsbook is looking to join the ranks among the industry s elite players.

To accomplish this, Caesars has recently unleashed a relentless television and online advertising campaign. But that only goes so far, so Caesars Sportsbook is gearing up for the NFL regular season   and the rush of betting action that comes with it   by offering a pair lights out promos.

How to Get Free NFL Jersey from Caesars Sportsbook
Let s first talk about the NFL jersey offer.

Both new and returning players to Caesars Sportsbook who wager at least $100 on NFL games this month will receive a free NFL jersey. This bonus will be paid with a $150 credit to NFLshop.com for the purchase of an authentic jersey. A couple quick notes about this special:
The $100 threshold needed in order to receive the jersey can be accomplished in a number of ways. Bettors can place a single $100 wager, or they can space it out with a number of bets in smaller amounts.

Moreover, bettors have from now until 9/30 to hit this number. There s no catch   as long as the qualifying wagers settle before the end of the month (no Super Bowl or MVP bets), then you re good to go. Any wagers placed on Weeks 1 3 of NFL regular season action will get it done.
Risk Free Bet and Sign Up
While the above offer is available to both new and returning Caesars Sportsbook members, those who sign up now can grab a $5,000 risk free bet, one worth more than five times of similar RFBs.

Simply sign up by using any of the links on this page. Make a first deposit and bet risk free. In order to make a $5,000 risk free bet, a $5,000 deposit will needed. However, deposits of as little as $10 can be made to make a risk free wager.

Bet on NFL Week 3 With Caesars Arizona to Get an NFL Jersey

Before you read on, make sure to check out the Caesars Arizona page! We ve got promo info, sportsbook reviews, and legal info on sports betting.
Caesars Arizona Bettors Enjoy a $5,000 Risk Free Bet
Arizona sports betting was legalized on September 9th, just in time for the start of the NFL season. And Arizona sports fans have plenty to be excited about. Their Cardinals are currently sitting at 2 0 after a blowout of the Tennessee Titans and a close win against the Minnesota Vikings. Well, as good as things are for Arizona sports fans, they re even better for the state s sports bettors. Caesars Arizona is offering a promo that gives new users a $5,000 risk free bet. You just need to sign up for Caesars Arizona using the promo code  LINEUPSRF  and make your first deposit. After registering and making your first deposit, place your first bet up to $5,000. If it doesn t win, you ll get reimbursed the full amount in betting credits.
Caesars Arizona: Free NFL Jerseys for the People
Right now, you can bet your way to a free NFL jersey through Caesars Arizona. All you have to do is complete enrollment in the Free NFL Jerseys for the People promotion on the Caesars promo page by September 30th and place at least $100 in NFL wagers. Once you hit that total, you ll be given a digital gift card worth $150. Keep in mind that eligible wagers must have minimum odds of  200. Once you meet all the requirements, the digital gift cards will be sent out on Tuesdays. In addition, to live wagers, parlays that include a qualifying wager will be eligible for this promotion.

Caesars Arizona users should definitely take advantage of this promo. This weekend, the Cardinals are favored at  7.5 points against the 0 2 Jacksonville Jaguars. The point total is also 52. Not a bad time to start getting close to that $100 mark to get your new Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, or JJ Watt jersey.
Best Bet: Arizona Cardinals  7.5
This line is a bit baffling to me. Is Jacksonville s home field advantage really worth that much? Against the Denver Broncos last Sunday, the Jags had one touchdown drive to lead followed by a kickoff return for a score later in the game. And that s it. How do you expect them to keep up with a dynamic Arizona offense? The Cardinals are putting up 445 yards per game, second only to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Jaguars, meanwhile, are closer to the cellar with 292 yards a game.

This could be another Chandler Jones sack fest. The Arizona linebacker started off hot with a five sack performance against the Tennessee Titans. While he was shut out last week against the Vikings, he s got to be pumped up to face the Jaguars offensive line, a unit worse than the Titans O line that allowed Ryan Tannehill to be dropped so many times. This has all the makings of another double digit loss for the Jaguars. Lay the points and watch Kyler Murray and the Cardinals put up major points.
